Hope Borwegen
Hope joined our team in August of 2007 as a Veterinary Assistant. After working in financial services for 20 years, Hope realized her true passion was working with animals. She completed classes at Middlesex County College and is a Certified Veterinary Assistant. She is also a member of Middlesex County Animal Response Team. Hope’s “Fur-Kids” include 5 cats: Cricket, Eugene, Melvin, Elvira & Prissy.
Nichole Dankanyin
Our daytime Receptionist, Nichole is a local Metuchen resident who graduated from Kean University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Minor in Sociology. After many years in the business field, she couldn’t resist following her fur baby-loving heart into Veterinary Medicine. There is nothing on earth she is more passionate about than animals and the bonds they have with their humans. In her spare time, Nichole enjoys Hot Yoga, raising feral kittens and making sure they have the wonderful homes they deserve, traveling, especially to Disney with her husband, and spending time with their two Chihuahuas, Max and Dozer, and six kitties, No-No, Kittykins, Tigger, Puddles, Roo-Roo and Bug.
Denise Chhouth
Denise’s passion to become a Veterinary Assistant started with a lick from a stray cat that hospitalized her due to her poor immune system caused by Leukemia. It set her on a determined journey to get better where she met a gentle, caring seeing eye dog that sparked her will to find a way to work with such a caring animal. Many years later, Denise had conquered Leukemia and proudly graduated as a professional dog trainer from Animal Behavioral College in 2010, and also as a Veterinary Administrator from Middlesex County College. Soon after gaining experience in the field, she went back to Middlesex County College to become a certified Animal Control Officer in 2019. She’s rescued three dogs, currently has Italian Greyhounds Bolt and Storm, and she can’t see her life without them.
